Remember Nokia Aeon concept phone?

Well, one of the Dutch free newspapers –De Pers - has and advert for Nokia Aeon sitting on it’s frontpage, saying that it will be exclusively available next week at the online retailer bestelmaar.nl.

The specs of the promised Nokia AEON include OLED Touchscreen display, 12.1 megapixel camera, GPS, HSDPA and is only 9mm thick.

So how real this can be?

I’m 99% sure that at least the part of official Nokia AEON’s availability from next week is completely not true. Nokia just does not launch new phones this way – giving the phone to a secondary retailer in an advanced, but secondary market, without any announcement.

As for the rest – I am also very doubtful at this point. While Nokia indeed might be working on bringing Aeon concept to life, I’m pretty sure that there will be at least some cosmetic changes as the concept drawing is transformed into a real product.

Samsung just sent us an email with the latest information on their S8300 Ultra Touch mobile phone. Music-centric features include the stereo speakers, the dedicated 3.5-mm audio jack, a stereo FM radio, and stereo Bluetooth support. There will also be an 8GB memory card included in the retail package.

Much like the Nokia 5630 XpressMusic that was presented at this year’s MWC, the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic comes with N-gage support and the the innovative Say-and-Play feature that allows you to control the music player with your voice only. There’s also the Music presence with Ovi Contacts, which shows you what music your Ovi friends are listening to right now.

The Nokia 5730 is expected in Q3 2009 in Red, Monochrome, Blue, and even Pink at an estimated retail price of 280 euro before taxes and subsidies.

Nokia 5330 XpressMusic

Nokia 5330 Xpressmusic is an S40 device with a 2.4-inch 16M color display and a 3 megapixel ficed focus camera. Touch-sensitive keys on the side control the music player, but there is also a standard 3.5mm jack, stereo Bluetooth, stereo FM radio. A 2GB card comes along in the retail box.

You’d be also interested to know that the Nokia 5330 has a GPS receiver and comes with Nokia Maps for S40. Connectivity-wise the handset offers quad-band GSM and tri-band HSDPA support plus microUSB port - no Wi-Fi on this one.

A couple of new LG mobile handsets come to light today, the LG GD330 and the LG GB125, and there aren’t that many details available on these two at the moment, but here’s what we do have…

The LG GD330 is a slider which should hit on March 25th with a 2.2 megapixel camera, FM radio and a couple of touch keys. The LG GD330 should command a price of approximately $200 but no word on which markets it will be hitting.

As for the LG GB125 is an entry level clamshell handset with a 1.5 inch display, FM radio and features a 950mAh battery. The LG GB125 is a basic handset and even lacks an external screen, and will probably go to emerging markets with a price tag of about $65.00.

Microsoft allows its viewer a furtive glance at the latest Samsung Win Mo phone, the C6625 aka Valencia. Touting a full QWERTY keyboard, TouchWhiz interface, a widget-bar and a navigation D-pad, this amazing multimedia device maxes itself as affable gadget. Also, it provides up to 7 hours talk time or 12.5 days standby.

The last Walkman phone Sony Ericsson has launched is the W715. And, as expected, this Walkman will be just a little better than its predecessors. Besides delivering your favorite music while you’re on the go, it will also offer you GPS support which means you will be able to make the most of the services available near you. Vodafone is going to pick the W715 and it will offer you turn-by-turn pedestrian or driving navigation with Vodafone Find&Go.

As for music, the W715 will come with the same features as the W980 has. You should expect crystal clear sound, the TrackID and SenseMe applications. The Shake Control function is also there which means you can change tracks with a twist of the wrist. And Vodafone Music is also going to be present.

You should expect the phone to arrive from Vodafone and other markets in Q1 but specific arrival dates and prices are going to be announced at a later date. The phone will come in those fancy named colors I like: Galactic Black and Luxury Silver. And here’s what we’re going to find inside of a W715 Walkman:

Last week, Microsoft held Mobius 2002, its yearly get-together with people, including yours truly, who run or work for websites devoted to some aspect of mobile computing. Microsoft footed the bill to fly us to Redmond where we learned about the latest Microsoft-related mobile products and even received some samples (for example, each attendee was given a T-Mobile Pocket PC Phone).

Pocket PC 2002 Update

David Feldman, a Senior Product Manager from ViewSonic, was at Mobius 2002 to demonstrate his company’s latest handheld, the V35. This is a Pocket PC with a 300 MHz XScale processor, a 320 by 240 pixel screen, 32 MB of memory, and an SD slot.

It will go on sale in the United States later this year for $299. It will go on sale in Asia at the same time. ViewSonic will offer it in Europe early next year for about 300 euros.

Mr. Feldman said the target market for this device was Palm users who want the familiar Windows graphical user interface.It might seem like a bit of a jump for a company known for its computer monitors to be releasing a handheld but Mr. Feldman explained by saying his company considers the screen to be the most important part of a handheld and screens are something ViewSonic is expert on.This won’t be the company’s only Pocket PC model. According to Mr. Feldman, ViewSonic will release a full range of handhelds, including high-end models and ones with wireless access.

Mobius wasn’t restricted to just handhelds. There were presentations on all types of devices related to mobile computing. One of the most interesting of these is the Tablet PC, which is what Microsoft hopes will be the next generation of the laptop.

These don’t use a touch screen; instead, they can detect the movements of a specific stylus. This is necessary because the user needs to be able to put his or her hand on the screen when writing, which isn’t practical with a touch screen

For example, a user can create a handwritten note in which the word “plastic” is used, then close it. Later, the user can do a search for the word “plastic” and the note will show up on the results list, even though it has never been converted to text.

So it’s not totally clear to us why you’d wait for this thing over a C905 that you could buy today, but once again, that’s the confusion behind Sony Ericsson’s Cyber-shot / Walkman branding that they’re claiming they hope to clear up going forward — it’s just that the W995 isn’t really a step in that direction, and we weren’t huge fans of the chicklet-sized nav keys up front. That being said, it seems like a fine phone overall — the display looks crisp and vivid, the interface was relatively snappy, and there’s little to complain about having an 8.1 megapixel autofocus cam at your disposal. Mobile World Congress 2009 is on so it is only fitting that after MySpace announced the launch of a new mobile site, here comes Yahoo as well.

Yahoo announced, you guessed it right, the upcoming launch of its new Yahoo Mobile, an app developed for the Apple iPhone, and as an app developed for smartphones from Nokia, RIM, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and Motorola as well as those powered by Windows Mobile. Yahoo! Mobile initially will be available through a managed beta program, with general availability expected in Q2 2009.
